When University of Houston-Clear Lake opened in 1974, we built our school with transfer students in mind. We didn't even accept freshmen or sophomores into our programs until 2014. That means we have plenty of expertise working with community colleges and other four-year institutions to make your transfer process easy.

University of Houston-Clear Lake wants you to see how your credits will transfer before applying to the university. Our Transfer Credit Estimator lets you see how your credits may apply toward your desired major.
Admission decisions are made based on your completed application and submission of all required documentation (official transcripts from every college or university attended and application fee). Check the status of your application online through E-Services using your UHCL student ID.
The UHCL application is available online at Apply Texas. The online application is scheduled to close for transfer students after the priority deadline of each semester.
After the priority deadline, please contact the Office of Admissions. Students who apply after the priority deadline must submit a paper application and submit all required documentation through the Office of Admission. Applications may be processed through late registration. A $50.00 Late Registration Fee or $50.00 Late Payment may apply.
